New Mayors Forum: Meet Some of the Women Shaping Our Future

  • Mache Adelaide 451 Pulteney Street Adelaide, SA, 5000 Australia (map)

Last year’s local government elections saw a record wave of women elected to SA Councils, with ten new female mayors elected in Adelaide.  Meet four of these new Mayors at AIUS SA’s next Urban Briefing.

Join us for networking drinks and nibbles, followed by a panel session hosted by AIUS SA Vice President Reb Rowe and AIUS SA Board Member Jen St Jack with:

  • Lord Mayor of Adelaide Sandy Verschoor;

  • Mayor of Whyalla Clare McLaughlin;

  • Mayor of Walkerville Elizabeth Fricker; and

  • Mayor of Mitcham Heather Holmes-Ross.

You will have the opportunity to hear direct from these new Mayors about how they will guide their communities through the critical urban issues of our time as nominated by you in our recent AIUS SA survey.

  • Hear how these Mayors plan to tackle climate change, foster local economies, and build social inclusivity.

  • Hear how they see the future roles of Mayors and local government, in light of the impending LG Act reforms.

  • Hear their visions for the future of their community, and the initiatives and projects they are most excited about.

This is a networking event. Please bring an open mind and warm embrace!

Cost (includes one drink per guest and nibbles) **TICKETS ARE LIMITED**
